Meet the Doctors
Dr. Sandra L. Vargas
Dr. Sandra L. Vargas received her D.M.D. from the Boston University Goldman School of Dental Medicine Advanced Standing Program, Boston, Massachusetts and her D.D.S. from the prestigious Javeriana University, Bogota, Colombia. Dr. Vargas has completed both the Southeast Regional Dental Boards and the Northeast Regional Dental Boards. Dr. Vargas has completed training with CIRP (Comprehensive Implant Residency Program) and The AIE Implant Mastery Program. Dr. Vargas has also been awarded a Fellowship with the International Congress of Oral Implantologists. Dr. Vargas is a board certified Oral Sedation Dentist.
Dr. Vargas maintains professional membership in the ICOI (International Congress of Oral Implantologists), Academy of General Dentistry (AGD), the Georgia Dental Association (GDA) and the American Dental Association (ADA). She attends The Hinman Dental and Excellency in Dentistry Conferences annually as well as keeping up on the latest techniques and technologies through continuing education courses. Dr. Vargas has completed courses with CIRP (Comprehensive Implant Residency Program), TeethXpress/BioHorizons Implant Denture Specialization, The AIE Implant Mastery Program, Biomet 3i, Dale Foundation, E4D University, Women in Implant Dentistry, Cerec Cad/Cam, UltraDent as well as courses in Prosthetics, Implants, Dentures, and Restorative, Endodontic and Cosmetic procedures. Dr. Vargas has been trained to treat with Botox Cosmetic and Juvederm to complete her patient’s appearance.
She has dedicated time to volunteer for community service work. Dr. Vargas is a board member of Portal de Salud and a founding member of Together We Smile LLC. Portal de Salud is a local charity that provides a path to healthcare for the part of our local population that doesn't have the language skills or the education needed to find healthcare. Together We Smile was founded by Dr. Vargas and John Jennings to address the desperate need for basic healthcare needs for populations in Colombia and other Central and South American countries. She has volunteered for the Healing the Children organization. Healing the Children doctors donate time and expertise to help children needing cleft lip and palate surgery in rural South America. She has also worked with Childspring International-Atlanta Chapter, KidSave Summer Miracles Program, Colombianitos Children Organization as well as multiple medical mission trips with Flying Doctors of America.

Dr. David Wong
Dr. David Wong attained his B.S in Biochemistry from the University of California, Riverside. Shortly after, he attended Meharry Medical College, School of Dentistry where he obtained his D.D.S. He is a firm believer in the Golden Rule of Life, only do to others as you wish them to do to you. By utilizing the technological advances available within the field of dentistry, as well as staying abreast of all the newest clinical techniques, Dr. Wong ensures that his patients feel comfortable, confident, and receive the greatest dental treatment. He provides a comfortable space with convenience hours. Upon graduating, Dr. Wong was accepted into the Air Force Advance Education in Dentistry (AEGD) residency program and completed it in 2004. The trainings included many advance procedures in general dentistry as well as other specialty disciplines such as orthodontics, intravenous sedation oral surgeries, and periodontics procedures. Currently, Dr. Wong is enrolled in a Mini Implant Residency program where he advances his implant performing techniques. Playing tennis, rock climbing, weight lifting, hiking/mountain biking, and snowboarding are several hobbies Dr. Wong enjoys. Recently, Dr. Wong has traveled to Hong Kong, London, Paris, Venice, and various other places in Europe and Egypt. In the near future, he plans on traveling to Thailand and Korea. Learning new cultures and traveling are additional activities Dr. Wong partakes in.
Dr. Joanna I. Bodea
Dr. Joanna Bodea attained her D.M.D. from the University of Pennsylvania, School of Dentistry. Because Dr. Bodea strives to provide high quality and advanced care for her patients, she routine enrolls in continuing education for implant restoration and all other cosmetic dentistry procedures. Her primary goal as a practitioner is to build strong relationships with her patients based on trust, confidence, and assurance. Dr. Bodea’s safe and caring methods help restore and maintain her patients’ dental health in a gentle environment. She is sincere, honest, diligent and empathetic. Following her graduation, Dr. Bodea completed a one year General Practice Residency at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York. This was an extremely selective program providing an additional year of intensive training and experience in patient care management, handling complex dental cases in crown and bridge, veneers, root canals, wisdom teeth extractions, and implant dentistry. Dr. Bodea has been enriching and strengthening her capability and skills by attending continuing education courses including MaxiCourse®, and training in one of the most advanced programs in implant dentistry in the country. These courses and training programs were taught by renowned university faculty, world-class clinicians, and the country's top authorities in implant dentistry. She is also an active participant in organizations such as Women in Dentistry. These experiences help Dr. Bodea to keep pace with the most recent scientific advancements, procedures, and equipment in dentistry. Furthermore, when Dr. Bodea is not treating her patients, she enjoys traveling, hiking, watchng movies, and spending time with her family.
Dr. Robert Pearson
A leader in the field of Periodontics, Dr. Robert Pearson is highly recognized among his peers for his contributions and commitment to continuing education in the field. He prides himself in providing his patients expert care as well as his gentle and soothing chairside manner. After graduating from Brigham Young University, Dr. Pearson attended the Medical College of Georgia, earning his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree in 1978 and then completing a year-long residency in the Periodontics department. Dr. Pearson has taught as an associate professor at his Alma Mater, the Medical College of Georgia and he also serves as a faculty member for Dental Implant Seminars, a leader in continuing post-graduate dental education. Working with his wife Kim, Dr. Pearson takes a personal approach to each of his patients. From their initial appointment to the follow-up afterwards, he ensures that each patient is satisfied with their results. Dr. Pearson has five children, all having attended or graduated from Georgia colleges. When he can find time, he loves to fish and play golf—anywhere he can.
Dr. Uyen Do
Dr. Do attained her B.S. in Biology from Kennesaw State University. She later obtained her D.M.D. from Medical College of Georgia. She is dedicated to delivering the best dental care to her patients and continues to advance her abilities by actively improving her education. While attending the Southeastern Academy of Prosthodontics, Dr. Do received recognition for Excellence in Prosthodontics for her work with complex cases. Similarly, Dr. Do is involved with the American Dental Association (ADA), Georgia Dental Association (GDA), and the Academy of General Dentistry (AGD). During her mission trip to Iquitos, Peru, via Georgia Mission of Mercy (GMOM) and Medical Campus Outreach (MCO), she provided dental care to those in need. Along with some of the outside activities she enjoys, such as cooking, rock climbing, traveling, and snowboarding, Dr. Do attends church at Transfiguration Catholic Church.

Dentistry Is About Caring For Others
At North Atlanta Family Dentistry we are passionate about giving back to the community, locally and abroad. We have set up a charitable foundation "Together We Smile". Our first mission trip is to Cartagena Colombia in July. We have had some great donations and the team is putting together packages for the children we will be visiting. On this trip, we will visit an orphanage and an elderly facility.
